It needs captions and an available YouTube transcript. Videos without captions, Shorts, and live streams are not supported. Caption quality depends on the original video.
No. This extension creates summaries and notes by selecting passages from existing captions locally in your browser. It does not use generative AI. The TubeText website offers separate AI-powered tools.
Yes. Copy the text into another app, or choose Save PDF and select Save as PDF in your browser’s print dialog.
It reads the transcript made available by YouTube. It does not translate captions. Availability and accuracy depend on the video and its captions.
Open the YouTube video description and select Show transcript, then retry in the extension. If it still does not work, send the video link and a short description of the problem to our support team.
